Munda (land/terroir)
Tamar Valley, Tasmania. This region’s cool maritime climate, long ripening season, and ancient alluvial soils provide an ideal environment for premium sparkling wine production. The vineyard site is composed predominantly of sandy loams and silts over clay—offering excellent drainage, balanced nutrition, and the ability to retain subtle vineyard character. Crisp mornings and long, mild days preserve acidity and intensify flavour, resulting in fruit of precision, vibrancy, and purity.
Vintage Conditions
Vintage 2020 brought favourable growing conditions to this part of Tasmania. Spring was temperate and stable, supporting healthy budburst and flowering. Average rainfall supported vine growth, while a warm summer encouraged flavour development in both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Fruit quality was exceptional, with standout acid balance and finesse—ideal for méthode traditionnelle sparkling wine.
